Background: An increasing number of patients with congenital heart disease (CHD) engage in physical activities and may exercise at high altitudes (HA). The physiological adaptations required at HA and their implications on individuals with CHD, especially during exercise, remain underexplored. This systematic review aims to investigate cardiopulmonary exercise responses to short-term HA exposure in individuals with CHD.

Introduction: The transition from low to high altitude environments is associated with a multifaceted series of physiological and psychological alterations that manifest over time. These changes are intricately intertwined, with physiological acclimatization primarily mediated through the regulation of hypoxia-inducible factor (HIF), which orchestrates the expression of critical molecules and hormones. This process extends to encompass the epigenome, metabolism, and other regulatory mechanisms.

Plant survival in a warmer world requires the timely adjustment of biological processes to cyclical changes in the new environment. Circadian oscillators have been proposed to contribute to thermal adaptation and plasticity. However, the influence of temperature on circadian clock performance and its impact on plant behaviour in natural ecosystems are not well-understood.

This study aimed to assess the prevalence and risk factors of CL in Bilala Shaye, a village in the southern Ethiopian highlands at an altitude of 2,250 meters.
Methods: A cross-sectional house-to-house survey was done between July-August 2021.

Following prolonged exposure to hypoxic conditions, for example, due to ascent to high altitude, aging or stroke, cognitive deficits can develop. The exact nature and genesis of hypoxia-induced cognitive deficits remain unresolved. Curcumin has been reported to stimulate neurogenesis and reduce neuronal degeneration.
