Despite modern treatments of tibial fractures, we still have nonunions. In case of failure we used a method of treatment which has become less popular over the last decades. A rectangular inlay graft is harvested from the anteromedial tibial surface. The graft, measuring about 12 to 15 cm long, is placed over the nonunion with 2/3 of its length on one side and the remaining third on the other side. The graft is turned 180 degrees and fixed with four lag screws in the original donor site. Postoperatively, we place a nonweight-bearing cast for 3 months. The results are quite satisfactory for both nonunions and difficult multi-operated nonunions.

Introduction: Aseptic recalcitrant nonunion (ARNU) of the femur and tibia is an entity in which the absence of bony union, misalignment, and limb length discrepancies (LLD) coexist. Currently, the management of these cases lacks consensus. This study aimed to describe the bone union rate and deformity correction outcomes in patients with ARNU of the femur or tibia treated with the Induced Membrane Technique (IMT).

Sensitive and accurate detection and imaging of different microRNAs (miRNAs) in cancer cells hold great promise for early disease diagnosis. Herein, a DNA tetrahedral scaffold (DTS)-corbelled autonomous-motion (AM) molecular machine based fluorescent sensing platform was designed for simultaneous detection of two types of miRNAs (miRNA-21 and miRNA-155) in HeLa cells. Locking-strand-silenced DNAzymes (P:L duplex) were firstly grafted at the loop of target-analogue-embedded double-stem hairpin substrates (TDHS) of DTS, making the sensor in a "signal off" state due to the closely distance between modified fluorophores (FAM and Cy5) with the corresponding quenchers (BHQ1 and BHQ2).

Anti-gene oligonucleotides belong to a group of therapeutic compounds, which, in contrast to antisense oligonucleotides, bind to DNA. Clamp anti-gene oligonucleotides bind through a double-stranded invasion mechanism. With two arms connected by a linker, they hybridize to one of the DNA strands forming Watson-Crick and Hoogsteen hydrogen bonds.

Although mixing and matching components is a common, safe, and well-documented practice in hip revision surgery, our extensive search indicates that it has not been previously reported for shoulder arthroplasty. This case report presents the use of mixed implants in shoulder revision surgery to reduce morbidity and address flaws in the initial implant design. We describe a case of a patient with multiple epiphyseal dysplasia who was treated for osteoarthritis in his left shoulder with an anatomic shoulder replacement in 2014.

Background: Extra-articular but severely comminuted distal basal fractures of the proximal phalanx (PP) are rarely reported. Therefore, the aim of this study was to achieve proper union and desirable outcomes using low-profile locking plates/screws. We introduced our own surgical approach and reported the clinical/radiographic outcomes via retrospective case series.
