Classic congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) due to 21-hydroxylase deficiency results in severe cortisol and aldosterone deficiency, leading to persistent adrenal stimulation and excess production of ACTH and adrenal androgens. This review examines the clinical considerations and challenges of balancing under- and overtreatment with glucocorticoids in adolescent and adult male individuals with CAH. Adolescents face many unique challenges that can hinder adherence, hormonal control, and transition to independence.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is an autoimmune condition characterized by the destruction of pancreatic β-cells, necessitating insulin therapy to prevent life-threatening complications such as diabetic ketoacidosis. Despite advancements in glucose monitoring and pharmacological treatments, managing this disease remains challenging, often leading to long-term complications and psychological burdens, including diabetes distress. Advanced treatment options, such as whole-pancreas transplantation and islet transplantation, aim to restore insulin production and improve glucose control in selected patients with diabetes.

Although pesticides have been a constant concern for decades, in the last ten years, public discussions and scientific research have emphasized their impact on human health and the environment, drawing increased attention to the problems associated with their use. The association of environmental stressors such as pesticides with a sugar-rich diet can contribute to the growing global metabolic disease epidemic through overlapping mechanisms of insulin resistance, inflammation, and metabolic dysregulation. The main aim of this study was to evaluate the behavioral effects of the exposure of Silver crucian carp () to a commercial insecticide formulation containing fipronil, pyriproxyfen, and other additives, as well as sucrose and their mixtures.
