Background: JenaValve's Trilogy transcatheter heart valve (THV) (JenaValve Inc, Irvine, CA) is the only -marked THV system for the treatment of aortic regurgitation (AR) or aortic stenosis (AS). However, its efficacy has not been quantitatively investigated pre- and post-implantation using video-densitometric analysis.

Methods: Using the CAAS-A-Valve 2.

To demonstrate thrombolytic efficacy of a tissue plasminogen activator (tPA)-loaded echogenic liposome (TELIP) formulation in a rabbit thrombotic stroke model (the most relevant animal model for evaluation of directed thrombolytic therapy for ischemic stroke), we sought to develop a means of monitoring thrombus dissolution quantitatively by ultrasound imaging methods. We hypothesized that a gas-free ultrasound contrast agent can be incorporated into blood clots at a concentration that does not affect the tPA-mediated clot dissolution rate, while enabling quantitative assessment of the clot dissolution rate. Clots were formed from a mixture of whole rabbit blood, 1 M calcium chloride, human thrombin and varying amounts of microcrystalline cellulose.

Screening bisphenols in complex samples via a planar Arxula adeninivorans bioluminescence bioassay.

Institute of Nutritional Science, Chair of Food Science, and TransMIT Center for Effect-Directed Analysis, Justus Liebig University Giessen, Heinrich-Buff-Ring 26-32, 35392, Giessen, Germany.

The Arxula yeast bisphenol screen (A-YBS) utilizes the bioluminescent Arxula adeninivorans yeast-based reporter cells for tailored analysis of bisphenols, one of the major endocrine-disrupting compound groups. For the first time, this bioreporter has been applied on the high-performance thin-layer chromatography (HPTLC) adsorbent surface to develop a respective planar bioluminescence bioassay (pA-YBS). The goal was to combine the advantages of HPTLC with a more selective bioassay detection for bisphenols.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to investigate atrial contractile function in patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF) in sinus rhythm using transthoracic echocardiography (EchoCG).

Methods And Results: Thirty-five patients with paroxysmal AF and arterial hypertension (mean age 62 ± 10 years, 43% male) in sinus rhythm were enrolled in the study. The control group was composed of comparable patients with arterial hypertension without heart rhythm disturbances.

Objectives: To compare the quantitative angiographic aortic regurgitation (AR) of six self-expanding valves after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).

Background: Quantitative videodensitometric aortography (LVOT-AR) is an accurate and reproducible tool for assessment of AR following TAVR.

Methods: This is a retrospective central core-lab analysis of 1,257 consecutive cine aortograms performed post-TAVR.
