The effectiveness of ultraviolet-C light-emitting diodes (UVC LEDs) is currently limited by the lack of suitable encapsulation materials, restricting their use in sterilization, communication, and in vivo cancer tumor inhibition. This study evaluates various silicone oils for UVC LED encapsulation. A material aging experiment was conducted on CF1040 (octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane), HF2020 (methyl hydro polysiloxanes), and MF2020-1000 (polydimethylsiloxane) under UVC radiation for 1000 h.

Beef jerky is a traditional meat product. It is uses beef as the main raw material, and is processed through multiple procedures such as curing, maturing, drying, sterilization, and packaging. There is a significant incentive to reduce the rate of CAUTIs through multimodal quality improvement initiatives; however, these initiatives are often costly to implement.
Objective: This article examines the cost-savings associated with a novel "two-part, two-person" catheter insertion protocol implemented at a pediatric quaternary care center PICU which replaced costly pre-packaged, closed system urinary catheter kits with their individually packaged components, along with its impact on CAUTI rates and nursing satisfaction.

Ethylene oxide (EO) and propylene oxide (PO) are widely used as sterilizing agents in the food industry. However, their residues in food packaging can migrate into food and react with it, affecting the accuracy of residue detection in food. This study aims to explore the reaction mechanisms between EO and PO and aqueous food simulants using both experimental and computational methods.
