Gallbladder duplication is a rare anatomical variation with an incidence of approximately 1 in 3800 to 4000 live births, resulting from aberrant biliary organogenesis. This case report discusses a 35-year-old female who presented with intermittent lower abdominal pain, with initial imaging revealing a complex left adnexal cyst. Follow-up CT and ultrasound examinations revealed 2 distinct gallbladder-like structures in the gallbladder fossa, each with a cystic duct draining into the common bile duct.

Background: Coevolution between modern aphids and their primary obligate, bacterial endosymbiont, Buchnera aphidicola, has been previously reported at different classification levels based on molecular phylogenetic analyses. However, the Buchnera genome remains poorly understood within the Rhus gall aphids.
Results: We assembled the complete genome of the endosymbiont Buchnera in 16 aphid samples, representing 13 species in all six genera of Rhus gall aphids by shotgun genome skimming method.
The clinical value of optical genome mapping in the rapid characterization of RB1 duplication and 15q23q24.2 triplication, for more appropriate prenatal genetic counselling.

Background: Despite recent advances in prenatal genetic diagnosis, medical geneticists still face considerable difficulty in interpreting the clinical outcome of copy-number-variant duplications and defining the mechanisms underlying the formation of certain chromosomal rearrangements. Optical genome mapping (OGM) is an emerging cytogenomic tool with proved ability to identify the full spectrum of cytogenetic aberrations.
Methods: Here, we report on the use of OGM in a prenatal diagnosis setting.
