Background: A decline in attendance at continuing education (CE) in nursing activities was observed in a Midwest state where CE attendance is not required.
Purpose: The purpose of this research study was to identify the effect of attitude, extrinsic and intrinsic reinforcement, and deterrents on contact hour accrual.
Methods: A convenience sample of 282 registered nurses was surveyed using a researcher-constructed instrument determined to be valid and reliable.
Results: Registered nurses earning 0 to 15 contact hours annually reported accruing fewer contact hours in 1999 than in an average year. Registered nurses who earned 16 to 45+ contact hours annually reported earning more contact hours in 1999 than in an average year. Intrinsic reinforcement was found to be a significant motivator (r [257] = .242; p < .0001) for contact hour accrual, whereas extrinsic reinforcement was not.
Conclusions: Skinner's Operant Conditioning Theory has use in explaining registered nurse attendance at CE activities. CE planners should consider placing more emphasis on intrinsic rather than extrinsic reinforcement to encourage staff to attend CE activities.

Background: Direct mechanical ventricular actuation (DMVA) with the Anstadt cup is effective for non-blood-contacting biventricular support. Pneumatic regulation of a silicone device augments ventricular pump function. Vacuum attachment facilitates diastolic augmentation critical for biventricular support.

Background: Although increasing numbers of appointments are being provided, public satisfaction with access to UK general practice is declining. Previous attempts to improve access have not been systematically collated.
Aim: We aimed to identify interventions to improve access to general practice in the UK, to organise these interventions into thematic categories, and to identify which aspects of access are targeted.

Introduction: Early recognition and treatment of stroke is paramount for good outcome. Transport distance may result in delayed arrival for revascularization therapy. We investigated how transport time and distance to the revascularization unit affected the probability of receiving intravenous thrombolysis in Denmark between 2015 and 2020, for patients calling the Emergency Medical Services within three hours of symptom onset.

Tin dioxide (SnO2) stands as a promising material for the electron transport layer (ETL) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) attributed to its superlative optoelectronic properties. The attainment of superior power conversion efficiency hinges critically on the preparation of high-quality SnO2 thin films. However, conventional nanoparticle SnO2 colloids often suffer from inherent issues such as numerous oxygen vacancy defects and film non-uniformity.

LPs provide vital data on AD risk and progression and time specific information on efficacy for clinical interventions, yet few investigators include research LPs, for fear of clinical implications, lack of specialized clinicians, and perceived unwillingness of participants to consent to LPs, particularly in minoritized participants METHOD: Comprehensive data is collected on willingness to take part in LP, safety, and procedure specifics, including side effects. Twenty milliliters of CSF are obtained using fluid drip or aspiration methods.
