Introduction: High intensity interval training for improving maximal oxygen consumption (VO) is a fundamental component of specific preparation phases for middle- and long-distance runners. In this context, short intervals are very popular in practice. The aim of the present study was to determine whether increasing the intensity of short intervals around maximal aerobic speed (vVO), compared to traditional long interval runs, leads to a greater time spent above 90% VO.

High-incline walking is a relatively new trend with little comparative information. This study compared physiological and psychological differences between high-incline walking at 20% grade (HIW) and level-grade jogging (LGJ) at isocaloric intensities in young adults. Twenty-two participants (M = 11, F = 11) aged 19-31 years completed the study.

Introduction: In-stent restenosis remains a significant challenge in coronary artery interventions. This study aims to explore the relationship between exercise intensity and stent design, focusing on the coupled response of the stent structure and hemodynamics at different exercise intensities.
Methods: A coupled balloon-stent-plaque-artery model and a fluid domain model reflecting structural deformation were developed to investigate the interaction between coronary stents and stenotic vessels, as well as their impact on hemodynamics.

Background/objectives: Salivary immunoglobulin A (IgA) is a mediator of local immunity and host defence. Altered IgA levels may predispose to bacterial invasion of the mucosa in the gastrointestinal tract, including the oral cavity. Our study aimed to present the diagnostic trends related to salivary IgA in health and disease based on a bibliometric analysis of published papers between 2009 and 2024.

When acute SARS-CoV-2 infections cause symptoms that persist longer than 3 months, this condition is termed long COVID. Symptoms experienced by patients often include myalgia, fatigue, brain fog, cognitive impairments, and post-exertional malaise (PEM), which is the worsening of symptoms following mental or physical exertion. There is little consensus on the pathophysiology of exercise-induced PEM and skeletal-muscle-related symptoms.
