Gingival localization of fibrosarcoma of soft oral tissues: case report.

A gingival localization of fibrosarcoma of soft oral tissues was described in a 58-year-old female. Primary fibrosarcoma of the head and neck region is rare. The histological appearance of the tumour is related to its grade of differentiation. The amount of collagen is variable. The accepted treatment is radical surgery; but metastases occur frequently in the lungs.

Background: Surgical methods of gingival depigmentation can be challenging, particularly if the gingival phenotype is thin due to the risk of gingival recession and bone exposure. Thus, exploring alternative, non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment modalities is warranted. In dermatology, vitamin C is extensively used for depigmentation and microneedling for collagen induction, with limited literature about its usage for improving gingival esthetics.

Materials And Methods: Electronic searches were performed in four databases for randomized trials from inception to February 2024 assessing the supplemental use of superfoods green tea and turmeric for gingivitis/periodontitis treatment. After duplicate study selection, data extraction, and risk-of-bias assessment with the RoB 2 tool, random-effects meta-analyses of Mean Differences (MD) or Standardized Mean Differences (SMD) with their 95% confidence intervals (CI) were performed.

Background: It is generally accepted that the greater palatine nerve and artery supply the palatal mucosa, gingiva, and glands, but not the bone or tooth adjacent to those tissues. When the bony palate is observed closely, multiple small foramina are seen on the palatal surface of the alveolar process. The authors hypothesized that the greater palatine nerve and artery might supply the maxillary teeth via the foramina on the palatal surface of the alveolar process and the superior alveolar nerve and artery.
