Background: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) is a rare but serious complication that can develop during pregnancy, with up to 30% of patients presenting with euglycemia, making prompt recognition challenging. It is associated with increased perinatal mortality rates, although the exact risk of maternal mortality remains unclear. The purpose of this systematic review was to examine the available literature and provide an overview of reported cases of DKA during pregnancy.

Introduction: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) are chronic disorders of the gastrointestinal tract associated with gut microbiota dysbiosis and inflammation. Serum-derived bovine immunoglobulin (SBI) is used to manage IBS and IBD and has shown prebiotic-like effects in ex vivo models. Re-establishing a healthy gut microbiome with novel treatments like SBI could help treat the underlying causes of these diseases leading to higher and sustained patient response.

Healthcare professionals recommending dietary changes to patients often find that institutional settings-businesses, universities, long-term care facilities, correctional institutions, among others-may not provide the healthful foods that healthcare professionals recommend. Moreover, such institutions encounter an increasing diversity of dietary restrictions, based on allergies, intolerances, religious mandates, or other reasons, that may be challenging to satisfy. To address these issues, experts in health, dietetics, culinary arts, religion, and ethics developed a simple set of guidelines that aim to meet the widest possible range of dietary needs.

Early childhood is a key opportunity to establish healthy eating behaviors and prevent future non-communicable diseases associated with poor diets. How to effectively intervene in the system of the many determinants influencing children's dietary intake remains unclear. This scoping review aimed to map the determinants of nutrition and eating that have been addressed in early childhood nutrition interventions and identify which of these improve dietary intake.
