This study examines the interplay between humble teacher leadership and student creative process engagement, grounded in Social Exchange Theory and Self-Determination Theory. Additionally, it analyzes the sequential mediating roles of student trust and psychological empowerment, as well as the moderating effect of proactive personality. Data were collected at three time points from 384 participants across Chinese universities and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with Smart PLS 4.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is associated with structural covariance network reconfiguration in cognitively unimpaired adults with type 2 diabetes.

January 2025

Department of Radiology, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Medical School, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008 China; Medical Imaging Center, Nanjing Drum Tower Hospital, Affiliated Hospital of Medical School, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008 China; Institute of Medical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence, Nanjing University, Nanjing 210008 China; Institute of Brain Science, Nanjing University, Nanjing, China. Electronic address:

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is often accompanied by non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), both of which are related to brain damage and cognitive impairment. However, cortical structural alteration and its relationship with metabolism and cognition in T2D with NAFLD (T2NAFLD) and without NAFLD (T2noNAFLD) remain unclear. The brain MRI scans, clinical measures and neuropsychological test were evaluated in 50 normal controls (NC), 73 T2noNAFLD, and 58 T2NAFLD.

Robust near-infrared modeling for pharmaceutical powder streams: External variable augmented iterative optimization technology (EVA-IOT).

Eur J Pharm Biopharm

Duquesne University Graduate School for Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pittsburgh, PA 15282, United States; Duquesne Center for Pharmaceutical Technology, Duquesne University, Pittsburgh, PA 15282, United States. Electronic address:

The adoption of pure component models, such as iterative optimization technology (IOT) algorithms, is gaining significant interest in the pharmaceutical industry, primarily because of their calibration-free/minimal calibration requirements for process analytical technology applications. The IOT methods have recently demonstrated great potential for monitoring the quality of continuous powder mixtures by Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. However, the dynamic conditions of continuous manufacturing processes may limit the effectiveness of such approaches.

Impact of carrier capacitance on Geobacter enrichment and direct interspecies electron transfer under anaerobic conditions.

Bioresour Technol

January 2025

State Key Laboratory of Urban Water Resource and Environment, School of Environment, Harbin Institute of Technology, No. 73 Huanghe Road, Nangang District, Harbin 150090 China. Electronic address:

Direct interspecies electron transfer (DIET) enhances anaerobic digestion by facilitating electron exchange between electroactive bacteria and methanogenic archaea. While Geobacter species are recognized for donating electrons to methanogens via DIET, they are rarely detected in mixed microbial communities. This study examined various non-electrode biological carriers (zeolite, carbon cloth, activated carbon and biochar) to promote Geobacter cultivation under anaerobic conditions and identify pivotal factors influencing their symbiosis with methanogens.

The SWItch/Sucrose Non-Fermenting (SWI/SNF) complexes are evolutionarily conserved, ATP-dependent chromatin remodelers crucial for multiple nuclear functions in eukaryotes. Recently, plant BCL-DOMAIN HOMOLOG (BDH) proteins were identified as shared subunits of all plant SWI/SNF complexes, significantly impacting chromatin accessibility and various developmental processes in Arabidopsis. In this study, we performed a comprehensive characterization of mutants, revealing the role of BDH in hypocotyl cell elongation.
