Due to the existence of organophosphorus pesticides (OPs) in the environment and their potential hazards to ecosystems and human health, this study aimed to develop a novel adsorbent of OPs using multifunctional carriers and surface molecular imprinting technology (SMIT). SiO-COOH served as a carrier, and molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) constituted a shell, creating a core-shell structured adsorbent. SMIT facilitated rapid and efficient binding between the target molecules and the imprinted cavities.

The escalating global demand for food and industrialization has placed significant pressure on the integrity and management of inland lake ecosystems. Herein, the organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs) pollution status and their relationship with dissolved organic matter (DOM) in Dongting Lake were investigated to identify the ecological risks and potential sources of OPPs. The mixture of pesticides is widely employed in cattle farming to combat ectoparasite resistance, such as ticks. The commercial formulation COLOSSO FC30, which contains three active ingredients (Cypermethrin, Chlorpyrifos, and Fenthion), stands out due to its efficiency. However, animals exposed to this product may become vectors of potentially toxic molecules, possibly causing contamination in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems.
