Infertility poses a global challenge that impacts a significant proportion of the populace. Presently, there is a substantial emphasis on investigating the potential of probiotics and their derivatives, called postbiotics, as an alternative therapeutic strategy for addressing infertility. The term of "postbiotics" refers to compounds including peptides, enzymes, teichoic acids, and muropeptides derived from peptidoglycans, polysaccharides, proteins, and organic acids that are excreted by living bacteria or released after bacterial lysis.

Carbapenems are a class of β-lactam antibacterial drugs with a broad antibacterial spectrum and strong activity, commonly used to treat serious bacterial infections. However, improper or excessive use of carbapenems can lead to increased bacterial resistance, which is a significant concern as they are often used as last resort for treating multidrug-resistant (MDR) gram-negative bacteria. Confronted with this challenge, it is crucial to comprehensively understand the mechanism of carbapenem resistance to develop effective therapeutic strategies and innovative drugs.

This study provides a detailed characterization of the AA5083 aluminum alloy, surface, and interface over 6 months of immersion in seawater, employing techniques such as SEM/EDX, GIXRD, μ-Raman and XPS. The purpose was to evaluate the evolution of the biomineralization process that occurs on the Al-Mg alloy. By investigating the specific conditions that favor the in situ growth of layered double hydroxide (LDH) during seawater immersion as a result of biomineralization, this research provides insights into marine biomineralization, highlighting its potential as an innovative and sustainable strategy for corrosion protection.

An effective approach for the immobilization and protection of biological entities is their encapsulation via the in situ synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs). To ensure the preservation of the bioentities, mild synthetic conditions, including aqueous media and ambient conditions (temperature and pressure), are preferred. In this study, we investigated the synthesis of various aluminum polycarboxylate-based MOFs, including the fumarate, terephthalate, amino-terephthalate, and muconate forms of MIL-53(Al), as well as the MIL-110 and MIL-160 MOF types.
