Objective: 3p deletion syndrome is a rare monosomal disease that encompasses deletions throughout the short arm of chromosome 3. It is often in the distal region (3p25-pter), but variations in breakpoints and a complex clinical manifestation exist, with congenital heart defects being considered rare. We present the first case of hypoplastic left heart syndrome and minor dysmorphic features associated with 3p- syndrome.

Disassembly of Virus-Like Particles and the Stabilizing Role of the Nucleic Acid Cargo.

J Phys Chem B

January 2025

In many simple viruses and virus-like particles, the protein capsid self-assembles around a nucleic-acid genome. Although the assembly process has been studied in detail, relatively little is known about how the capsid disassembles, a potentially important step for infection (in viruses) or cargo delivery (in virus-like particles). We investigate capsid disassembly using a coarse-grained molecular dynamics model of a = 1 dodecahedral capsid and an RNA-like polymer.

Aim To evaluate and compare the fracture toughness and flexural strength of interim fixed partial dentures reinforced with carbon, glass, and Kevlar nanofibers. Materials and methods This study explored the effect of reinforcing poly methyl methacrylate with carbon, glass, and Kevlar fibers on its fracture toughness and flexural strength. A total of 120 samples were prepared, divided into two groups of 60 samples each, with one group tested for fracture toughness and the other for flexural strength.

Observations from multisensory body illusions indicate that the body representation can be adapted to changing task demands, e.g., it can be expanded to integrate external objects based on current sensorimotor experience (embodiment).

Reorganization of cortical individualized differential structural covariance network is associated with regional morphometric changes in chronic subcortical stroke.

Neuroimage Clin

January 2025

Department of Radiology, Tianjin Key Lab of Functional Imaging & Tianjin Institute of Radiology, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, Tianjin 300052, China. Electronic address:

Patients with chronic subcortical stroke undergo regional and network morphometric reorganizations beyond the lesion site, but the interplay between network and regional reorganization remains poorly understood. We aimed to clarify the reorganization patterns of the individualized differential structural covariance networks (IDSCN) in chronic subcortical stroke and investigate their associations with regional gray matter volume (GMV) changes and functional recovery. Structural MRI from four datasets enrolled 112 patients with chronic subcortical stroke (81 male, age: 55.
