International literature on the history of Russian psychology is largely limited to the development of Activity theory and cultural-historical theory. This paper aims to go beyond these limits by introducing a figure little known to an international audience, Boris Parygin, who emerged in the 1960s with his "grand" project for the development of Russian social psychology, significantly different from the Soviet psychology "mainstream," stemming from Vygotsky, Luria, and Alexei Nikolaevich Leontiev. We demonstrate that Parygin's works belong to a theoretical and methodological tradition of social and humanitarian scholarship that had been developing in Russia since 1870s.

Improving agglomeration efficiency of aerosols with sizes less than 2.5 µm by generation of vortex streams in inhomogeneous ultrasonic field.

Ultrasonics

August 2024

Biysk Technological Institute (branch) of the Altay State Technical University, Department Methods and Tools for Measurement and Automation, Russian Federation, Siberian Federal District, Altai Krai, 659305, Biysk, Trofimova st., 27, Russia. Electronic address:

In this paper a new approach to increase the agglomeration efficiency of finely dispersed aerosols by generating toroidal vortex streams in inhomogeneous ultrasonic field is proposed and studied. From the obtained experimental results (for two types of emitters) it could be established that the toroidal vortex streams generated in an inhomogeneous ultrasonic field provide an increase of the agglomeration efficiency when exposed to a gas-dispersed flow injected into the agglomeration chamber at a speed of up to 0.2 m/s.

This article presents findings on the study of content, profile distribution, and reserves of various carbon forms (organic carbon (TOC) and inorganic carbon (IC)) in Urbic Technosols and Ekranic Technosols within the residential zone of the city, alongside zonal Calcic Chernozems in the recreational zone of Rostov-on-Don, Aksai, and Bataysk. It was revealed that the TOC content in the upper horizons of Urbic Technosols is significantly lower than in the chernozem horizons of fallow areas, registering at 2.59 ± 0.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive molecular subtype, with a poor survival rate compared to others subtypes. For a long time, chemotherapy was the only systemic treatment for TNBC, and the identification of actionable molecular targets might ultimately improve the prognosis for TNBC patients. We performed a genome-wide analysis of DNA methylation at CpG islands on a collection of one hundred ten breast carcinoma samples and six normal breast tissue samples using reduced representation bisulfite sequencing with the XmaI restriction enzyme (XmaI-RRBS) and identified a subset of TNBC samples with significant hypomethylation at the genes' CpG islands, including CpG dinucleotides covered with cg12853742 and cg21886367 HumanMethylation 450K microarray probes.
