The early identification of neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs) in infants is crucial for effective intervention and improved long-term outcomes. Recent evidence indicates a correlation between deficits in spontaneous movements in newborns and the likelihood of developing NDDs later in life. Establishing specific reference intervals (RIs) of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 [25(OH)D] for children is essential for improving the accuracy of diagnosis and prognosis monitoring of diseases such as rickets and growth retardation. The study including 6,627 healthy children was conducted to establish specific RIs of 25(OH)D for children in Nanning area of China. The results showed that there were statistically significant differences among age, season, and gender of serum 25(OH)D levels, and the age-specific RIs of serum 25(OH)D were 20.

Background: Seasonality in the incidence of congenital hypothyroidism (CH) has been identified in several countries and different conclusions have been drawn. The objective of this study was to examine whether this seasonality is also observable in China and how it manifests across different temperate zones.
Methods: Data on CH cases and screened neonates between January 1, 2014, and September 30, 2022, by year and season, were sourced from the Chinese Newborn Screening Information System.
