An improved ViT model for music genre classification based on mel spectrogram.

PLoS One

March 2025

Jiangsu Key Laboratory of Public Project Audit, School of Engineering Audit, Nanjing Audit University, Nanjing, China.

Automating the task of music genre classification offers opportunities to enhance user experiences, streamline music management processes, and unlock insights into the rich and diverse world of music. In this paper, an improved ViT model is proposed to extract more comprehensive music genre features from Mel spectrograms by leveraging the strengths of both convolutional neural networks and Transformers. Also, the paper incorporates a channel attention mechanism by amplifying differences between channels within the Mel spectrograms of individual music genres, thereby facilitating more precise classification.

Introduction: Reirradiation (reRT) has become increasingly prevalent due to an aging population and advancements in cancer detection and treatment. However, the field is still lacking standardized dosimetric evaluation methods and reRT workflows, which leads to difficulty in correlating clinical outcomes with delivered dose. This study reports on the implementation and evolution of a standardized reRT workflow in the Department of Radiation Oncology at [redacted], describing insights gained from nearly 3000 external beam reirradiation courses delivered since 2017.

Ambiently Dried Aerogel-Foam Composites with Gradient Pore Structure for Enhanced Sound Absorption.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

March 2025

School of Physics Science and Engineering, Tongji University, Shanghai 200092, P. R. China.

Silica-based aerogels are widely regarded as promising sound-absorbing materials due to their low density and high specific surface area. However, their hard surface and small pores hinder sound wave penetration, resulting in a relatively poor sound absorption performance. To overcome this limitation, our study employs melamine foam (MF) as a scaffold to construct a gradient aerogel composite acoustic absorber.

Interface-Tailored Secondary Excitation and Ultrafast Charge/Energy Transfer in TiCT-MoS Heterostructure Films.

Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry & Center for Advancing Electronics Dresden (cfaed), Technische Universität Dresden, 01062 Dresden, Germany.

Charge/energy separation across interfaces of plasmonic materials is vital for minimizing plasmonic losses and enhancing their performance in photochemical and optoelectronic applications. While heterostructures combining plasmonic two-dimensional transition metal carbides/nitrides (MXenes) and semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) hold significant potential, the mechanisms governing plasmon-induced carrier dynamics at these interfaces remain elusive. Here, we uncover a distinctive secondary excitation phenomenon and an ultrafast charge/energy transfer process in heterostructure films composed of macro-scale TiCT and MoS films.

Vocal Fatigue and Recovery Patterns Among Call Center Operators: A Workday Progression Study.

J Voice

March 2025

Sri Ramachandra Faculty of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Electronic address:

Objective: Call centers in India, rely heavily on call center operators' (CCO) vocal abilities, putting them on a high vocal demand and the related risk of voice-related problems. This study investigated vocal changes among CCOs during a workday.

Method: Fifty CCOs from various sectors participated undergoing evaluation, including acoustical, perceptual, aerodynamic, and self-perceptual measures.
