Background: Being able to measure informed choice represents a mechanism for service evaluation to monitor whether informed choice is achieved in practice. Approaches to measuring informed choice to date have been based in the biomedical hegemony. Overlooked is the effect of epistemic positioning, that is, how people are positioned as credible knowers in relation to knowledge tested as being relevant for informed choice.

Monochorionic twin pregnancies carry a risk of perinatal complications due to shared placental anastomoses, which can cause uneven blood distribution and lead to conditions like selective fetal growth restriction (sFGR). This case describes a monochorionic pregnancy complicated by preeclampsia and late-onset sFGR of twin B. Labor was prematurely induced and a 45% weight discordance between the twins was confirmed.

Glanzmann thrombasthenia (GT) is an autosomal recessive platelet functional bleeding disorder caused by mutations in the ITGA2B or ITGB3 genes, often presenting as mucocutaneous bleeding. GT typically presents in infancy, but this study reports a rare case of neonatal presentation in a female infant born to consanguineous parents. The mother, a 27-year-old woman with a family history of GT, presented at 36 weeks gestation for an elective cesarean due to a breech presentation.
