2-Methoxyestradiol (2ME) is involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia and antitumor activity. In addition to its low concentration in healthy human serum, presence of isomers makes quantification of 2ME for clinical research and laboratory medicine difficult. The objective of this study was to develop a highly sensitive and accurate method for quantifying 2ME using LC-MS/MS combined with derivatization with 1-(2,4-dinitro-5-fluorophenyl)-4,4-dimethylpiperazinium iodide (MPDNP-F).

January 2025

The Institute of Medical Research, The Fifth Hospital of Shijiazhuang, Shijiazhuang, Hebei, People's Republic of China.

Latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) is a critical stage of tuberculosis infection in which Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) is dormant and does not cause active disease. Traditionally, the most commonly used clinical methods for diagnosing LTBI have been the tuberculin skin test (TST) and the interferon-gamma release assay (IGRA). Recently, however, novel skin tests, molecular biology techniques, and cytokine biomarkers have been developed.

Background: Damage-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs) induced by immunogenic cell death (ICD) may be useful for the immunotherapy to patients undergoing pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The aim of this study is to predict the prognosis and immunotherapy responsiveness of PDAC patients using DAMPs-related genes.

Methods: K-means analysis was used to identify the DAMPs-related subtypes of 175 PDAC cases.

Introduction: The regulation of expression during T-cell development and immune responses is essential for proper lineage commitment and function in the periphery. However, the mechanisms of genetic and epigenetic regulation are complex, and their interplay not entirely understood. Previously, we demonstrated the need for CD4 upregulation during positive selection to ensure faithful commitment of MHC-II-restricted T cells to the CD4 lineage.
