Background: PTB (PTB) remains a leading cause of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Cerclage for short cervical length (CL) ≤25mm in singletons with a history of spontaneous PTB is associated with decreased neonatal morbidity/mortality. Both vaginal progesterone and cerclage individually have level 1 evidence supporting benefit in prevention of PTB in pregnancies complicated by short CL, however there is a paucity of level 1 evidence regarding the potential benefit of cerclage with progesterone compared to progesterone alone for short CL ≤25mm in singletons without a history of spontaneous PTB.

To assess the usefulness of first amniotic sac Interleukin-6 (IL-6) to rule out intra-amniotic inflammation (IAI), as well as maternal blood c-reactive protein (CRP), to select patients with a twin pregnancy who may benefit from an emergency cerclage. : Retrospective, descriptive study among all patients with a twin pregnancy and mid-trimester bulging membranes admitted to a tertiary Hospital from January 2012 to September 2023. According to the Hospital's Protocol, all patients received a vaginal and abdominal ultrasound, a maternal blood test, and an amniocentesis of the first sac to rule out IAI, defined by IL-6 ≥ 2.

Foetal growth restriction (FGR) is associated with neonatal morbidity, suboptimal neurodevelopmental outcomes and chronic diseases. Successful pregnancies of women with recurrent mid-trimester pregnancy losses may still be at risk of FGR and small for gestational age (SGA) outcomes. This study aimed to investigate whether patients with recurrent mid-trimester pregnancy losses who undergo transabdominal cerclage (TAC) are at an increased risk of FGR.
