Objective: To explore the effects of Huxin formula (HXF) in curtailing atherosclerosis and its underlying mechanism.
Methods: According to random number table method, 24 specific pathogen free male ApoE mice were randomly divided into model group, HXF low-dose (HXF-L) group (8.4 g/kg daily), HXF high-dose (HXF-H) group (16.

The aim of this systematic review was to answer the following question: "Does alendronate, a nitrogen-containing bisphosphonate, improve or impair alveolar socket healing after tooth extraction in animal models"? To this end, a systematic review of the literature was carried out in PubMed, Scopus, LILACS, Web of Science, as well as in the gray literature up to May 2023. Preclinical studies that evaluated alveolar healing after tooth extraction and the intake of sodium alendronate compared with placebo were included. Two investigators were responsible for screening the articles independently, extracting the data, and assessing their quality through the SYRCLE's RoB tool for randomized trials in animal studies.

Background: The application of lower limb traction during hip arthroscopy and femur fractures osteosynthesis is commonplace in orthopaedic surgeries. Traditional methods utilize a perineal post on a traction table, leading to soft tissue damage and nerve neuropraxia. A postless technique, using high-friction pads, has been considered as a potential damage-free alternative.

Objective: Most car occupant fatalities occur in frontal crashes and the thorax is the most frequently injured body region. The objectives of the study were, firstly, to quantify the relation between risk factors (such as speed and occupant age) and rib and sternum fracture injury probability in frontal car crashes, and, secondly, to evaluate whether rib fracture occurrence can predict sternum fractures.
Methods: Weighted German data from 1999-2021 were used to create the injury risk curves to predict both, at least moderate and at least serious, rib and sternum fracture risks.

Mesoscopic calcium imaging enables studies of cell-type specific neural activity over large areas. A growing body of literature suggests that neural activity can be different when animals are free to move compared to when they are restrained. Unfortunately, existing systems for imaging calcium dynamics over large areas in non-human primates (NHPs) are table-top devices that require restraint of the animal's head.
