Climate change policies are driving the oil and gas industry to explore CO injection for carbon dioxide storage in reservoirs. In the United States, a substantial portion of oil production relies on CO-enhanced-oil-recovery (CO-EOR), demonstrating a growing interest in using CO to address various production challenges like condensate mitigation, pressure maintenance, and enhancing productivity in tight reservoirs. CO injection introduces gases like natural gas and N, either pre-existing or as impurities in the injected CO gas.

A 60-year-old female patient was referred for further diagnosis and treatment of a posterior mediastinal lesion. The lesion was incidentally discovered in a CT scan of the chest and abdomen, which had been performed due to an increased CA 19-9 in routine blood tests. At the time point of the referral, the lesion had already been biopsied twice (CT guided and through EUS) but the histopathology was inconclusive.

Background: Vaccines are critical tools to prevent the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) through prevention of infection and reduction of subsequent antibiotic use. Since AMR is a critical issue disproportionately affecting Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMICs), we examined investments in research and development for bacterial vaccines with a focus on LMIC-driven research.
Methods: Publicly available funding data on projects active from January 2007 to 15 January 2024 from the G-FINDER and Global AMR R&D Hub databases were analysed.

Regulated sequential exocytosis of neutrophil granules is essential in orchestrating the innate immune response, while uncontrolled secretion causes inflammation. We developed and characterized Nexinhib20, a small-molecule inhibitor that targets azurophilic granule exocytosis in neutrophils by blocking the interaction between the small GTPase Rab27a and its effector JFC1. Its therapeutic potential has been demonstrated in several pre-clinical models of inflammatory disease.
