J Cosmet Dermatol

January 2025

CGH Compagnie Generale des Hopitaux, Rome, Italy.

Introduction: In recent years, the field of aesthetic dermatology has witnessed a surge in demand for minimally invasive procedures aimed at rejuvenating aging skin. This study aims to address this demand by evaluating the effectiveness of the injectable gel in rejuvenating aging skin, particularly by targeting collagen regeneration and lifting effect.

Materials And Methods: The study involved 43 participants who underwent three monthly injection sessions targeting retaining ligaments.

Oligosaccharide-assisted resolution of holothurian fucosylated chondroitin sulfate for fine structure and P-selectin inhibition.

Carbohydr Polym

March 2025

School of Chemistry and Materials Science, South-Central Minzu University, Wuhan 430074, China; School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, South-Central Minzu University, Wuhan 430074, China. Electronic address:

Fucosylated chondroitin sulfate (FCS) from Holothuria mexicana (FCS) was selected for investigation because of its intriguing branch features. Selective β-eliminative depolymerization and the bottom-up assembly were performed to unravel that FCS consisted of a {D-GlcA-β1,3-D-GalNAc} backbone and branches of alternating Fuc (55 %) and D-GalNAc-α1,2-L-Fuc (45 %), the highest proportion of disaccharide branch reported to date. In branches, sulfation could occur at every free -OH site except O-3 of GalNAc, being the most complex and various structure features of natural FCS.

This study investigates a method for programming immune cells using a biomaterial-based system, providing an alternative to traditional cell manipulation techniques. It addresses the limitations of engineered adoptive T cell therapies, such as T cell exhaustion, by introducing a gelatin-hyaluronic acid (GH-GMA) hydrogel system. We characterized tonsil mesenchymal stem cells (TMSCs), lymphatic endothelial cells (T-LECs), stimulated T-CD8 T cells (STCs), and GH-GMA biomaterials.

Article Synopsis
  • This study compares heparin and 0.9% sodium chloride for locking peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs) in blood cancer patients.
  • Participants were randomly assigned to either locking method for up to 7 days, with no significant difference in PICC patency between the two.
  • Heparin led to more side effects, higher costs, and increased nursing time, suggesting that 0.9% sodium chloride is a safer and more cost-effective option for maintenance.

Article Synopsis
  • The study explored how extracellular histone H4 contributes to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) triggered by oleic acid (OA) in mice.
  • The research found that levels of histone H4 increased significantly after OA injection, correlating with the severity of ARDS, and that pre-treatment with histone H4 worsened lung edema and mortality.
  • Histone H4 activated endothelial cells through mechanisms involving heparan sulfate degradation and certain receptors, leading to inflammation and thrombus formation in the lungs.
