Objectives: Over 30% of people worldwide suffer from metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), a significant global health issue. Identifying and preventing high-risk individuals for MASLD early is crucial. The purpose of our study is to investigate the factors related to the development of MASLD and develop a risk prediction model for its occurrence.

Clinical endpoints caused by hyperlipoproteinemia include atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease and acute pancreatitis. Emerging lipid-lowering therapies targeting proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 9 (PCSK9), lipoprotein(a), apolipoprotein C-III, and angiopoietin-like protein 3 represent promising advances in the management of patients with hyperlipoproteinemia. These therapies offer novel approaches for lowering pathogenic lipid and lipoprotein species, particularly in patients with serious perturbations who are not adequately controlled with conventional treatments or who are unable to tolerate them.

Cota is a lipidated dual GLP-1 and Glucagon receptor agonist that was investigated for the treatment of various metabolic diseases, it is designed for once daily subcutaneous administration. Invasive daily injections often result in poor patient compliance with chronic disease, and here, we demonstrate an innovative strategy of encapsulating reversible cota self-assembled fibers within an in-situ forming depot of low molecular weight poly(lactic-co-glycolic) acid (LWPLGA) for sustained delivery GLP-1 and Glucagon receptor agonist with controlled burst release. This could be a suitable alternative to other sustained delivery strategies for fibrillating peptides.

Metallofullerenols and fullerenols have attracted attention due to their remarkable ability to interact with various biologically relevant molecules, paving the way for biomedical applications, ranging from medical imaging techniques to drug carriers, acting with increased efficiency and reduced side effects. In this work, we investigated the effects of two fullerene derivatives, Gd@C(OH) and C(OH), on erythrocyte membrane components under oxidative stress conditions induced by 2,2'-azobis(2-amidinopropane) dihydrochloride (AAPH) as a source of peroxyl radicals. The results demonstrated that gadolinium encapsulation within the fullerene cage enhanced the electron affinity of Gd@C(OH), resulting in stronger antioxidant activity.

Objectives: Recent research indicates that the plasma lipidome composition may undergo alterations following hemorrhagic stroke. Nevertheless, the causal inference between plasma lipidome and hemorrhagic stroke remains elusive.
Materials And Methods: Exposure data were achieved from a recent Genome-wide Association Study (GWAS) study of 179 lipid species involving 7,174 individuals, while the outcome data were obtained from the FinnGen consortium (R10), including intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and non-traumatic intracranial hemorrhage (nITH).
