The patient is a 65 year-old male with a history of Asian flu at 6 months of age, Mumps meningoencephalitis at 6 years of age, structural epilepsy since 15 years of age, traumatic brain injury with skull-base fracture at 51 years of age, arterial hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, previous alcoholism, and polyneuropathy. He presented with only mild right-sided spastic hemiparesis, dysarthria, decreased tendon reflexes in the lower limbs, spastic-ataxic gait, but he was able to walk unassisted.

Waterhouse-Friderichsen Syndrome (WFS) is a rare but life-threatening condition characterized by massive adrenal hemorrhage. WFS represents one of the features of the Overwhelming Post-Splenectomy Infection, which occurs any time after spleen removal and is recognized as the most serious complication in asplenic patients. We report a fatal case of WFS resulting from Streptococcus pneumoniae infection in a vaccinated and splenectomized patient.

Purpose: To measure the impact of national regulatory actions implemented in France in August 2018 and June 2019 to reduce the risk of meningioma associated with the use of cyproterone acetate (CPA).

Methods: Using the French National Healthcare database, we calculated the monthly number of CPA users among cisgender women, men and transgender women in 2010-2021, the monthly proportion of users with cerebral imaging screening, and the annual rate of meningioma surgery associated with CPA use. CPA discontinuations and switches were analysed.
