Article Abstract

An evaluation was carried out comparing Oculokinetic Perimetry (O.K.P.) with Automatic Perimetry of Thresholds (Hipocampus Perimeter) for ocular hypertension and glaucoma studying 145 eyes. The O.K.P. shows a sensitivity between 35.65 and 38.54%, a specificity of 76.67-79.59%, a + predictive value of 78.72-85.42%, and a-predictive value of 23.71-39.80%.

Purpose: Vivid Vision Perimetry (VVP; Vivid Vision, Inc) is a novel method for performing in-office and home-based visual field assessment using a virtual reality platform and oculokinetic perimetry. Here we examine the reproducibility of VVP Swift and compare results with conventional standard automated perimetry (SAP) and spectral-domain (SD) OCT.

Design: Cross-sectional study.

Background: The oculo-kinetic perimetry glaucoma screening test (OKPGST) simplifies testing for glaucoma. Despite its acceptable degree of efficiency and practicability, its usage in sub-Saharan African appears limited.

Objective: To evaluate and compare the oculo-kinetic perimetry glaucoma screening chart against automated perimetry and clinical criteria in screening for glaucoma in a sub-Sahara African setting.

Screening tests for detecting open-angle glaucoma: systematic review and meta-analysis.

Invest Ophthalmol Vis Sci

December 2008

Health Services Research Unit, Institute of Applied Health Sciences, College of Life Sciences and Medicine, University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Purpose: To assess the comparative accuracy of potential screening tests for open angle glaucoma (OAG).

Methods: Medline, Embase, Biosis (to November 2005), Science Citation Index (to December 2005), and The Cochrane Library (Issue 4, 2005) were searched. Studies assessing candidate screening tests for detecting OAG in persons older than 40 years that reported true and false positives and negatives were included.

Visual field loss after stroke: confrontation and perimetry in the assessment of recovery.

J Stroke Cerebrovasc Dis

October 2007

Department of Medicine, Royal Infirmary, University Geriatric Medicine Unit, Edinburgh, Scotland.

The purpose of this study was to examine the recovery of visual field deficits after first-ever stroke and to determine the accuracy of standard clinical assessment using oculokinetic perimetry. Of 148 patients with a hemisphere stroke and a normal conscious level, 75 (50.6%) were found to have a visual field deficit by clinical examination.
