Objective: This study aimed to analyze the correlation of adiponectin (APN) and leptin (LEP), reproductive endocrine hormones with insulin resistance (IR) in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) patients with normal body mass index (BMI).
Methods: Totally 160 PCOS patients were categorized into the Normal BMI (BMI: 18.5-25 kg/m, = 62) and High BMI (BMI > 25 kg/m, = 98) groups.

Background: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common hormonal disorders in reproductive-age women caused by hyperinsulinemia. The portfolio Moderate-carbohydrate diet (PMCD) is a plant-based diet with a carbohydrate content of 40% and incorporates five cholesterol-lowering foods. While, the ketogenic diet is a high-fat diet with 70% fat, promoting a ketosis state.

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is known for potent cardioprotective properties and diminished DHEA level in plasma is often associated with hypertension and age-related anomalies. However, putative ex-vivo vasorelaxation potential of DHEA in systemic resistance vessels like mesenteric arteries and conduit arteries like aorta are still to be worked out. The study aimed to explore vasorelaxation potential of DHEA in superior and resistance mesenteric arteries and aorta in rats and to determine the contribution L-type Voltage dependent calcium channel (L-VDCC) in the relaxation response in these arterial tissues.

Perceived stress is thought to contribute to the pathogenesis of metabolic, vascular, mental, and immune diseases, with different susceptibilities in women and men. The present study investigated if and how perceived stress and/or demographic variables, including sex, age, body mass index, regular prescription drugs, occasional analgesics, or dietary supplements, manifested in plasma lipidomic profiles obtained by targeted and untargeted mass spectrometry analyses. The study included 217 healthy women and 108 healthy men, aged 18-68 yr, who were recruited in a 2:1 female:male ratio to account for women with/without contraceptives.

The sigma-1 receptor (S1R) is involved in intracellular lipid synthesis and transport. Recent studies have shown that its genetic inactivation impairs adipogenic differentiation in vitro. This study investigated the role of S1R in adipose tissue physiology and metabolic health using adult and old WT and S1R KO mice.
