This report presents a rare case of acute transverse myelitis (ATM) after mumps infection in a 33-year-old male. Symptoms included fever, parotid and scrotal swelling, and subsequent sensory-motor paraparesis. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed long-segment spinal cord hyperintensity, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed pleocytosis and elevated protein, with positive mumps virus antibodies.

The foramen of Huschke or foramen tympanicum is a developmental defect in the bony part of the external auditory meatus. It occurs due to incomplete obliteration of the tympanic canal and the persistence of openings along the canal. Malignant melanoma of the parotid gland is an unusual tumor in the head and neck region, and most parotid melanoma is reported as a metastatic lesion of cutaneous malignant melanoma. We report a case of primary malignant melanoma arising in the parotid gland duct with diagnostic challenge. The patient was a 68-year-old man who complained of repeated right facial swelling that presented 3 months prior.
