Temporal constructs are central to reproduction and kinship, as epitomised by the pervasive concept of the biological clock within public imaginaries. While queer scholarship has problematised linear models of kinship and reproductive temporality, the specific temporalities associated with donor-conceived families have received less scholarly attention, despite the increasing prevalence of these family structures. In this article, we explore the question: how does donor conception reconfigure temporal logics.

Quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) methods represent a powerful family of computational techniques for tackling complex quantum many-body problems and performing calculations of stationary state properties. QMC is among the most accurate and powerful approaches to the study of electronic structure, but its application is often hindered by a steep learning curve; hence it is rarely addressed in undergraduate and postgraduate classes. This tutorial is a step toward filling this gap.

A symbiotic relationship exists between narrative imaginaries of and real-life advancements in technology. Such cultural imaginings have a powerful influence on our understanding of the potential that technology has to affect our lives; as a result, narrative-based approaches to (PD) of technology are an active area of investigation. In this ongoing study, the following research questions are addressed: how can PD be optimised for the fields of robotics and assistive technology, particularly with regard to fostering empowerment and eliciting how people imagine the role of technology in their own futures? How can the symbiotic relationship between (popular) cultural imaginaries and real-life technological advancements be acknowledged within the PD process? The study synthesises fictional inquiry and science fiction prototyping methodologies and processes over multiple workshops.

Charge density wave (CDW) is the phenomenon of a material that undergoes a spontaneous lattice distortion and modulation of the electron density. Typically, the formation of CDW is attributed to Fermi surface nesting or electron-phonon coupling, where the CDW vector (Q) corresponds to localized extreme points of electronic susceptibility or imaginary phonon frequencies. Here, we propose a new family of multiple CDW orders, including chiral Star-of-David configuration in nine 2D III-VI van der Waals materials, backed by first-principles calculations.

We present the first comprehensive study for signal growth in transmission lines (TL) with purely time-modulated characteristic impedance (infinite superluminality). This study pioneers the investigation into the effects of varying the cell's electrical length and the impact of loss on momentum bandgaps and amplification levels. It also thoroughly examines how time-modulated transmission line truncation by a static load influences the sensitivity of amplification gain to the relative phase between the incoming signal and modulation, comparing these findings with the case of parametric amplification.
