Methods: Data on older patients (aged 65 and above) diagnosed with kidney cancer between 1975 and 2018 were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. Proteins' flexibility is a feature in communicating changes in cell signaling instigated by binding with secondary messengers, such as calcium ions, associated with the coordination of muscle contraction, neurotransmitter release, and gene expression. When binding with the disordered parts of a protein, calcium ions must balance their charge states with the shape of calcium-binding proteins and their versatile pool of partners depending on the circumstances they transmit. Accurately determining the ionic charges of those ions is essential for understanding their role in such processes.

Urban ornamental shrubs have significant potential for restoring cadmium (Cd)-contaminated soil. The Cd enrichment characteristics and tolerance mechanisms of Buxus sinica and Ligustrum × vicaryi were investigated through a simulated pot pollution experiment. Specifically, the Cd content and accumulation in different plant tissues, the subcellular distribution and chemical forms of Cd in the roots, and the effects of Cd on the ultrastructure of root cells under various Cd concentrations (0, 25, 50, 100, and 200 mg kg⁻) were analyzed.

Recycling waste salt in the dry reprocessing of nuclear fuel and reducing electric energy consumption in the electrorefining process are crucial steps toward addressing significant challenges in this field.
