Background: Vinblastine is a widely used chemotherapeutic agent for various cancers. We report a case of transient congenital hypothyroidism following maternal exposure to vinblastine during the third trimester of pregnancy and propose possible mechanisms of action.
Method: We utilized the CARE guidelines to report the case.

This study aimed to increase the concentrations of vindoline (VDL) and catharanthine (CAT) in Catharanthus roseus plants cultivated in an indoor farming system using artificial lighting and plasma-activated water (PAW). After a 61-days pre-treatment period under fluorescent lamps, plants were exposed to four treatments: white light (W) from the same fluorescent lamps, red light (R) from LEDs, W with PAW, and R with PAW. These combinations were evaluated at two sampling times: 45 days (T1) and 70 days (T2) after the end of pre-treatment (DAP).

Medical plants play a crucial role in the pharmaceutical industry due to their natural synthesis of active compounds. Synthetic methods exist, which provide fewer effective molecules compared to those naturally occurring. , a significant medicinal plant, synthesizes vital vinca alkaloids and various secondary metabolites widely used in cancer and hypertension treatment.

In neurons, patterns of different microtubule types are essential for neurite extension and nucleokinesis. Cellular model systems such as rodent primary cultures and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived neurons have provided key insights into how these patterns are created and maintained through the action of microtubule-associated proteins, motor proteins, and regulatory enzymes. iPSC-derived models show tremendous promise but lack benchmarking and validation relative to rodent primary cultures.

Vincristine, a vinca alkaloid, is used in chemotherapy protocols for cancers such as acute leukemia, Hodgkin's disease, neuroblastoma, cervical carcinoma, lymphomas, breast cancer, and melanoma. Among the common adverse effects of vincristine is peripheral neuropathy, with most patients receiving a cumulative dose over 4 mg/m who develop varying degrees of sensory neuropathy. The onset of vincristine-induced peripheral neuropathy can greatly affect patients' quality of life, often requiring dose adjustments or the discontinuation of treatment.
