The intrinsic cardiac nervous system (ICNS), termed as the heart's 'little brain', is the final point of neural regulation of cardiac function. Studying the dynamic behaviour of these ICNS neurons via multiscale neuronal computer models has been limited by the sparsity of electrophysiological data. We developed and analysed a computational library of neuronal electrophysiological models based on single neuron transcriptomic data obtained from ICNS neurons.

Background: The few reported patients with pathogenic IRF8 variants have manifested 2 distinct phenotypes: (1) an autosomal recessive severe immunodeficiency with significant neutrophilia and absence of or significant decrease in monocytes and dendritic cells and (2) a dominant-negative form with only a decrease in conventional type 2 dendritic cells (cDC2s) and susceptibility to mycobacterial disease.

Objectives: Genetic testing of a child with persistent EBV viremia identified a novel IRF8 variant: c.1279dupT (p.

is a long-established, well known and globally important genus of plant pathogens. Phylogenetic evidence has shown that the biologically distinct, obligate biotrophic downy mildews evolved from at least twice. Since, cladistically, this renders 'paraphyletic', it has been proposed that evolutionary clades be split into multiple genera (Runge et al.

Pharmacokinetics of Ampicillin-Sulbactam in Azotemic and Non-Azotemic Dogs.

J Vet Pharmacol Ther

March 2025

Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science, Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado, USA.

Previous research has shown that azotemic dogs have a lower clearance and higher drug plasma concentrations of ampicillin compared to healthy dogs. The objective of this study was to determine the pharmacokinetics of ampicillin-sulbactam after multiple intravenous doses in hospitalized azotemic and non-azotemic dogs. This prospective study included 29 client-owned dogs; 19 azotemic and 10 non-azotemic.

The use of a liquid biopsy to assess molecular residual disease (MRD) of solid tumors holds significant promise for improving outcomes for patients with cancer. Liquid biopsies are a minimally invasive approach for the identification of circulating tumor biomarkers through a simple blood sample. Assays capable of detecting MRD through analysis of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) are rapidly evolving for clinical study applications and therapeutic interventions.
