Background: Continuous fermentation offers advantages in improving production efficiency and reducing costs, making it highly competitive for industrial ethanol production. A key requirement for Saccharomyces cerevisiae strains used in this process is their tolerance to high ethanol concentrations, which enables them to adapt to continuous fermentation conditions. To explore how yeast cells respond to varying levels of ethanol stress during fermentation, a two-month continuous fermentation was conducted.

Background: Diabetic foot ulcers (DFU) are severe complications of diabetes, posing significant health and societal challenges. Accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and elevated glucose levels are primary factors affecting diabetic wound healing. Achieving effective treatment by reducing ROS alone is challenging, as high glucose levels continuously drive ROS production.

Background: Intracellular membraneless organelles formed by liquid-liquid phase separation (LLPS) function in diverse physiological processes and have been linked to tumor-promoting properties. The nucleolus is one of the largest membraneless organelle formed through LLPS. Deubiquitylating enzymes (DUBs) emerge as novel therapeutic targets against human cancers.

Background: To investigate the incidence and potential predictors of immune tolerance among adult living donor liver transplant (LDLT) recipients.
Methods: This case-control study included adult recipients who underwent LDLT between May 2004 and January 2018, with at least a 5-year follow-up after LDLT. We divided the study recipients into two groups: Group 1 (Tolerance Group) included recipients who achieved operational or prope tolerance for at least one year; Group 2 (Control Group) included recipients who did not achieve tolerance.

Background: The clinical manifestations of PI4KA-related disorders are characterized by considerable variability, predominantly featuring neurological impairments, gastrointestinal symptoms, and a combined immunodeficiency. The aim of this study was to delineate the novel spectrum of PI4KA variants detected prenatally and to assess their influence on fetal development.
Methods: A thorough fetal ultrasound screening was conducted, supplemented by both antenatal and post-abortion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies.
