Introduction: Cyclical sciatica due to implantation of endometrial tissue in the sciatic nerve in the region of the sciatic notch is a very unusual cause of sciatica. It occurs in women of childbearing age, as episodes of pain in the distribution of the sciatic nerve, which present in a cyclic manner and coincide with menstruation. If it is not treated, a sensomotor mononeuropathy of the sciatic nerve develops.

Purpose Of The Study: The authors report 4 observations of Piriformis syndrome, defined as a truncked sciatalgy with sciatic nerve and branches located compression at the buttock passing through the subpiriformis canal.
Material: 4 sportive patients, 26 to 41 years old have been treated surgically after an average of one year and a half of evolution and failure of conservative treatments. The surgical procedure consisted in section of the piriformis muscle and neurolysis of the sciatic nerve.

The authors report a case of 'pseudosciatic' pain due to bone metastasis located in the sacroiliac joint secondary to breast cancer. Complementary investigations are mandatory in any case of sciatic pain starting at 80 years of age, even in the absence of the usual criteria suggesting a neoplastic origin. In this case our investigations revealed sacroiliac bone metastasis from the breast, explaining the clinical picture.

Sciatic nerve endometriosis is rare but must be included in the sciatic pain aetiology diagnosis. Typically the patient's sciatic pain is cyclic. Electromyography and computed tomographic scanning or nuclear resonance imagery contribute to the diagnosis.
