Background: Glyphosate is an extensively employed herbicide in agriculture, specifically for sugarcane cultivation. The situation is different with the extensive physiological and genetic effects exerted by this herbicide on a range of plant species, including sugarcane, whose model basis is still poorly characterized, although its primary mode of action, which acts on the EPSPS enzyme in the shikimic acid pathway, is completely elucidated. The current study was aimed at investigating the stability of glyphosate formulation, molecular interactions of glyphosate formulation with rbcL enzyme associated with chlorophyll metabolism, and its effects on varieties of sugarcane.

Grape downy mildew, caused by poses a threat to grape cultivation globally. Early detection of fungicide resistance is critical for effective management. This study aimed to assess the prevalence and distribution of mutations associated with resistance to Quinone oxide inhibitors (QoI, FRAC 11), Quinone inside inhibitors (QiIs, FRAC 21, cyazofamid), Carboxylic acid amides (CAA, FRAC 41), and Quinone inside and outside inhibitor, stigmatellin binding mode (QioSI, FRAC 45, ametoctradin) in populations in the eastern United States and Canada; and evaluate whether these mutations are linked to fungicide resistance correlate with specific clades.

This article presents new data on the integrated use of colloidal solutions of nanoparticles and low-intensity laser radiation on the biosynthetic activity of the medicinal mushroom . Traditional mycological methods, colloidal solutions of biogenic metals, and unique photobiological methods have also been used. It was found that colloidal solutions of nanoparticles of all metals used increased the growth characteristics of (55-60%), while irradiation of the fungal inoculum with laser light in a medium with nanoparticles reduced the growth activity of mycelia by 12.

It takes two flints to start a fire: A focus group study into PhD supervision for responsible research.

Account Res

January 2025

Department of Methodology and Statistics, School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Tilburg University Prof. Cobbenhagenlaan, Tilburg, The Netherlands.

Background: Supervision is one important means of promoting responsible research. However, what a responsible supervisor should do and how to foster a responsible supervisory climate is unclear.

Methods: Between January 2023 and February 2024, I conducted 17 focus groups in The Netherlands and Denmark with 85 PhD candidates and PhD supervisors to understand what practices supervisors engage in to promote responsible conduct of research and what strategies could promote a responsible supervisory relationship.
