Certain miscellaneous beans have a low glycemic index (GI) and may reduce the risk of chronic metabolic disorders, including type 2 diabetes and obesity, by modulating postprandial glucose homeostasis and blood lipid levels. In this study, red kidney bean flour and wheat gluten were used as raw materials, and long-chain inulin phosphate monoester (PFXL) was added to improve the quality of red kidney bean dough, prepare high-quality steamed bread, and explore its health effect on type 2 diabetes. The results showed that the addition of PFXL improved the water distribution and rheological properties of coarse grain dough and enriched the flavor of coarse grain steamed bread.

Background: Osteosarcomas (OS) are malignant bone tumors prevalent in adolescents, characterized by aggressiveness and early metastasis. Current treatments including surgery and chemotherapy face challenges due to drug limitations and the complex tumor microenvironment (TME).

Methods: Tumour membranes (TM) derived from OS cells and macrophage membranes (MM) derived from macrophages were mixed to create hybrid membranes (HM), which were subsequently used to encapsulate microRNA-665(miR-665)-loaded Poly lactic-co-glycolic acid (PLGA) nanoparticles, forming HM@PLGA/miR-665 complexes.

A vast amount of plastic waste enters the ocean every year and the Mediterranean Sea is particularly affected by this issue. Biodegradable polymers like poly(lactic acid) (PLA) and poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate) (PHBV), may help mitigate this problem. We investigated bacterial biofilm development and succession on these polymers over one year in the Western Mediterranean Sea.
