We report the case of a young woman whose son had X-linked chronic granulomatous disease (CGD) while she was gene transmitter and presented with erythematous-squamous dermatosis predominant in unprotected regions, photosensitivity and oral ulcerations. The diagnosis of discoid lupus erythematosus, suggested by the clinical complex, was not confirmed by paraclinical examinations. CGD is an X-linked or, less often, autosomal recessive disease underlain by a selective deficiency of intraleucocytic bactericidal ability.

23 patients with proven pseudolupus-syndrome were observed over a period of five years; titers of specific antimitochondrial antibodies (AMA) were tested in a follow-up study after the last intake of Venopyronum-Dragees (VPD), a drug combination of plant glycosides, horse-chestnut extracts and phenopyrazone. Cellular immune reactions against the eliciting drug, depended on the date of the acute phase and were examined in two patients after reexposure. High titers in the acute phase decreased rapidly in most of the cases within the first six months.

We report on a female patient with this syndrome and interstitial concomitant nephritis. Possible causal factors, clinical picture, typical laboratory findings, therapy and prognosis are discussed with the help of the casuistics.

In six in the past history, a vasculotropic drug, Venocuran or Venopyridum, had been taken. All the patients had had episodes of fever, a pericarditis and/or myocarditis.
