The C1019T polymorphism of the connexin-37 (GJA4) gene is a single-nucleotide polymorphisms involved in atherosclerotic plaque rupture and atherosclerosis predisposition. We examined the association between the C1019T polymorphism of the GJA4 gene and the occurrence of myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with premature coronary artery disease (CAD). Aim: The vaginal management of the second twin (T2) differs throughout our country. In 2009, the French National College of Gynecologists and Obstetricians released practice guidelines, with low-level evidence, encouraging active management of the second twin, using maneuvers with intact membrane.

Patients And Methods: In our level III labour ward, these maneuvers are systematically performed when the second twin is in a breech or transverse presentation and after ruptured membranes in most cases.

[Traumatic manubriosternal joint dislocation in adult: about two surgical cases].

Traumatic manubriosternal joint dislocations are rare in adult and occur readily during a violent traumatism of the chest and/or the dorsal spine. We report two cases treated between September 1997 and August 2002 at the Surgical Emergency Department of Le Dantec Hospital. The first observation was related to a 26 year old lady.

Eighteen blunt small bowel traumas were reviewed in this retrospective study (1986-1996) concerning 12.8% of laparotomies for blunt abdominal trauma. The clinical presentation at admission was peritonitis (9 cases) or hemoperitoneum (4 cases) whereas 5 cases were diagnosed lately because of non specific signs at the beginning.
