Worldwide adoption of the Oxford Classification of IgA nephropathy (IgAN) has enabled comparison of pathology data from clinicopathological studies in different regions of the world. It is apparent that the frequency of Oxford Classification MEST-C scores shows geographic variations. These in part reflect differences in the stage of disease at diagnosis, criteria for performing biopsies and inclusion in clinical studies, and pathologist reporting practice.

(1) Background: Urinary tract infection (UTI) is a leading cause of emergency department visits and hospital admissions. Despite many studies identifying UTI-related risk factors for bacteremia or sepsis, a significant gap remains in developing predictive models for in-hospital mortality or the necessity for emergent intensive care unit admission in the emergency department. This study aimed to construct interpretable machine learning models capable of identifying patients at high risk for critical outcomes.

Determination of serum creatinine concentrations and subsequent calculation of estimated glomerular filtration rates (eGFR) is a cornerstone of clinical medicine. Crucial clinical decisions such as drug treatment discontinuations are based on eGFR calculated from serum creatinine measurements. However, creatinine is not only filtered in the kidneys, but also actively secreted into urine.

Rationale And Objectives: Researchers have delved into noninvasive diagnostic methods of renal fibrosis (RF) in chronic kidney disease, including ultrasound (US), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and radiomics. However, the value of these diagnostic methods in the noninvasive diagnosis of RF remains contentious. Consequently, the present study aimed to systematically delineate the accuracy of the noninvasive diagnosis of RF.

Imaging parameters, frequencies and resulting patient organ doses in treatments of prostate cancer were assessed in Finnish radiotherapy centres. Based on a questionnaire to the clinics, Monte Carlo method was used to estimate organ doses in International Commission on Radiological Protection standard phantom for prostate, bladder, rectum and femoral head. The results show that doses from cone beam computed tomography imaging have reduced compared to earlier studies and are between 3.
