Development and Characterization of a Polyvalent Polyclonal Antibody as a Common Capture Antibody for the Detection of Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli in a Sandwich ELISA.

Due to its low cost and simplicity, the sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sELISA) is a traditional technique for identifying foodborne pathogens. However, most sELISAs are designed for single foodborne pathogen detection using two specific antibodies, which capture and detect the target bacteria. This study aimed to produce and characterize a common capture polyclonal antibody for Enterotoxigenic Escherichia coli (ETEC), Salmonella Typhimurium, and Shigella flexneri (S.

Antigen-presenting cells phagocytose tumor cells and subsequently cross-present tumor-derived antigens. However, these processes are impeded by phagocytosis checkpoints and inefficient cytosolic transport of antigenic peptides from phagolysosomes. Here, using a microbial-inspired strategy, we engineered an antibody-toxin conjugate (ATC) that targets the 'don't eat me' signal CD47 linked to the bacterial toxin listeriolysin O from the intracellular bacterium Listeria monocytogenes via a cleavable linker (CD47-LLO).

Background: (LM) is a life-threatening bacterium affecting many individuals worldwide, including elderly people, pregnant women, and immune-deficient patients.

Aim: Whole-cell killed formalin of LM antigens (WKLMAgs) and culture filtrated proteins (LCFPs) against challenge-attenuated LM after two booster doses (0 and 14 days) of immunization act as an antigen activating a high level of IgG3, IgM, CXCL2, and IL-1 beta.

Methods: Forty male rats were randomly assigned to four groups.

BackgroundCrimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a severe illness characterised by fever, bleeding and high case-fatality rates. The disease is caused by CCHF virus (CCHFV), transmitted by ticks and infectious body fluids and tissues.AimAfter CCHF was diagnosed in three persons in 2023, we aimed to investigate the presence of antibodies against CCHFV in healthcare workers (HCW), sheep and goats, and of CCHFV in ticks, in an area in North Macedonia and characterise virus strains.

A colloidal gold immunochromatographic assay (ICA) based on a dual-antibody sandwich method was developed for the rapid and convenient detection of () antigens in the early stages of infection. Monoclonal antibodies designed as 5B3 targeting the conserved region of 56 kDa outer membrane protein in various strains of were generated through cell fusion and screening techniques and combined with previously prepared polyclonal antibodies as detection antibodies to establish the ICA. Colloidal gold and polyclonal antibody-colloidal gold complexes were synthesized under optimized conditions.
