Exploring the potential mechanism of atrazine-induced dopaminergic neurotoxicity based on integration strategy.

Environ Health Prev Med

Article Synopsis
  • Atrazine (ATR), a widely used herbicide, is linked to neurotoxic effects that may mirror symptoms of Parkinson's disease, prompting this study to explore the underlying molecular mechanisms.
  • The research utilized network toxicology and various analytical methods to identify key protein targets involved in ATR-induced dopaminergic injury, ultimately identifying five significant hub targets.
  • The findings suggested that these targets are crucial in ATR's neurotoxic effects, indicating a need for deeper exploration into ATR's molecular toxicity mechanisms.

Article Synopsis
  • Intrarenal dopamine helps protect against diabetic nephropathy in early-stage diabetes by reducing glomerular hyperfiltration, oxidative stress, inflammation, and fibrosis in mice models.
  • The study used benserazide to investigate the effects of peripheral dopamine on kidney function in spontaneously diabetic Torii rats, showing that lower peripheral dopamine levels worsen renal dysfunction.
  • Findings reveal that peripheral dopamine plays a crucial role in controlling oxidative stress and kidney performance during the early stages of diabetic nephropathy, evidenced by its effect on markers of renal dysfunction.

Endometritis is a common disease in animals, leading to disruption of reproductive processes and economic losses. Noradrenergic control of prostaglandin (PG)I2 formation by inflamed endometrium is unknown. We determined the involvement of α1-, α2- and β-adrenoreceptors (ARs) in noradrenaline-influenced PGI synthase (PGIS) protein abundance and PGI2 release from porcine (1) endometrial explants with ()-induced inflammation in vivo, and (2) lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-treated endometrial epithelial cells.

Noradrenaline (NA) and serotonin (5-HT) induce nociception and antinociception. This antagonistic effect can be explained by the dose and type of activated receptors. We investigated the existence of synergism between the noradrenergic and serotonergic systems during peripheral antinociception.

Diabetes and obesity: the role of stress in the development of cancer.

Diabesity is a condition where an individual has both diabetes and obesity, which can lead to severe complications including cardiovascular disease, a leading cause of mortality. Recently, cancer has become a leading cause of excess hospitalizations, and both diabetes and obesity are associated with a higher risk of developing several types of cancer. In this review, we propose that chronic stress significantly increases this association.
