Actinobacteria are widely used in aerobic composting of straw waste because of their good degradation effect on lignocellulose. However, there are few studies on the degradation effect of on straw. In this study, six laboratory-scale treatments were conducted: corn straw composting with inoculation (CSI), rice straw composting with inoculation (RSI), and wheat straw composting with inoculation (WSI).

Folate metabolism is required for important biochemical processes that regulate cell functioning, but its role in female reproductive physiology in cattle during peri- and post-conceptional periods has not been thoroughly explored. Previous studies have shown the presence of folate in bovine oviductal fluid, as well as finely regulated gene expression of folate receptors and transporters in bovine oviduct epithelial cells (BOECs). Additionally, extracellular folic acid (FA) affects the transcriptional levels of genes important for the functioning of BOECs.

A novel glycoside hydrolase (GH) family 16 multi-domain β-1,3-1,4-glucanase (FsGlc16A) from Fibrobacter sp. UWP2 was identified, heterogeneously expressed, and its enzymatic properties, protein structure and application potential were characterized. Enzymological characterization showed that FsGlc16A performed the optimal catalytic activity at pH 4.

We succeeded in homogeneously expressing and purifying L-asparaginase from Latilactobacillus sakei LK-145 (Ls-Asn1) and its mutated enzymes C196S, C264S, C290S, C196S/C264S, C196S/C290S, C264S/C290S, and C196S/C264S/C290S-Ls-Asn1. Enzymological studies using purified enzymes revealed that all cysteine residues of Ls-Asn1 were found to affect the catalytic activity of Ls-Asn1 to varying degrees. The mutation of Cys196 did not affect the specific activity, but the mutation of Cys264, even a single mutation, significantly decreased the specific activity.
