Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) poses a serious challenge in kidney transplant recipients. Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-seronegative recipients have a significantly increased risk of PTLD, but few studies have investigated risk factors for PTLD in EBV-seronegative recipients in the current era of immunosuppression. This cohort study from Norway and western Denmark included first-time kidney transplant recipients between 2007-2021, and estimated the cumulative incidence, risk and prognosis of PTLD.

Cuproptosis is a newly discovered form of non-apoptotic cell death. Cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) can secrete various bioactive substances, including exosomes, to promote tumor progression. However, the impact of CAFs on the regulation of copper metabolism and cuproptosis in oral squamous cell carcinomas (OSCC) has not been investigated.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the most prevalent malignant tumors, often with a poor prognosis. The HBx protein, encoded by the hepatitis B virus (HBv), is significantly associated with the pathogenesis of HCC. Although studies suggested that the von Willebrand factor (vWF) is key to the progression of HCC associated with HBv, the underlying mechanisms are largely obscure.

Research addressing MPM patients with HCC is limited. Therefore, we conducted a retrospective study to explore the clinical features and outcomes of MPM patients involving HCC.

Molecular interactions at the cell surface, in particular between hyaluronic acid (HA) and the cluster of differentiation 44 (CD44) receptor, are crucial in several biological processes and diseases such as cancer. Thus, inhibition of the HA-CD44 interaction has become a promising therapeutic strategy. Etoposide was the only antitumor compound known to inhibit the binding of CD44 to HA, thereby disrupting key functions that drive malignancy.
