Experiences are presented with the surgical treatment of 33 patients with traumatic radial nerve injuries after humerus fracture. Diagnostic and surgical difficulties of primary orthopaedic humerus fragment union by osteosynthesis with simultaneous evaluation of the damaged nerve. In the group of patients who had been given primary orthopaedic treatment the causes were analysed of reinnervation failure. In another group of patients undergoing metal plate removal after full bone union had been achieved the own experiences are presented related to an improved method of operative approach and delayed reconstruction of the damaged nerve. The authors suggest reconstruction of radial nerve injury after humerus fracture by specialized teams of orthopaedic surgeons and neurosurgeons.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of a novel retrograde ultrasound-guided A1 pulley release technique for the treatment of trigger thumb. We conducted a retrospective, single-center study of 42 patients who underwent ultrasound-guided A1 pulley release for clinically diagnosed trigger thumb between September 2022 and December 2023. All cases were graded according to the Green classification of trigger finger severity.

Recent studies in vertebrates and Caenorhabditis elegans have reshaped models of how the axon guidance cue UNC-6/Netrin functions in dorsal-ventral axon guidance, which was traditionally thought to form a ventral-to-dorsal concentration gradient that was actively sensed by growing axons. In the vertebrate spinal cord, floorplate Netrin1 was shown to be largely dispensable for ventral commissural growth. Rather, short range interactions with Netrin1 on the ventricular zone radial glial stem cells was shown to guide ventral commissural axon growth.

Background: The excision of oropharyngeal carcinoma of more than 50% of the soft palate followed by static reconstruction may result in functional deficits, including velopharyngeal insufficiency, swallowing, and speech difficulties. We describe a functional soft palate reconstruction technique aimed at restoring aeromechanical and acoustic functions, enabling swallowing without nasal regurgitation and speech with low nasalance.
Material And Methods: We developed a new operative technique, using muscle transfer and a free flap to create a dynamic reconstruction.

Background: Neuroimaging studies have shown that hypothalamic/thalamic nuclei and other distant brain regions belonging to complex cerebral networks are involved in cluster headache (CH). However, the exact relationship between these areas, which may be dependent or independent, remains to be understood. We investigated differences in resting-state functional connectivity (FC) between brain networks and its relationship with the microstructure of the hypothalamus and thalamus in patients with episodic CH outside attacks and healthy controls (HCs).

Purpose: To evaluate optic disc and macular microvasculature changes in children with anisometropic amblyopia before and after treatment.
Methods: In all, 60 children with unilateral anisometropic amblyopia between the ages of 6 and 12 were randomly selected from the ophthalmology clinic of Fuyang People's Hospital, while 60 children with non-amblyopia in the same age range were randomly selected as a normal control group. The right eye was uniformly taken in the control group with at least 6 months of follow-up.
