Lime and NaS, used in dehairing in the tannery industry, cause the generation of toxic wastes. Ecological security and financial issues demand a look for innovative approaches to leather dehairing free from pollution. The primary goal of this investigation was to explore keratinolytic protease producing bacteria from tannery waste, their genomic evaluation and to assess their possible use in the dehairing process.

In a recent paper, I noted how healthcare professionals and institutions that appear to value and vaunt kindness can, in practice, fall not just occasionally short, but often systemically so. Rather than insisting on these as aberrations, I wondered whether, our practice of kindness may, as with use of antibiotics or X-rays, have its own less considered but nonetheless harmful side effects.

Blue rubber bleb nevus syndrome (BRBNS) is a rare congenital clinical syndrome characterized by venous malformations in multiple organs, including the skin, gastrointestinal tract, liver, and lungs. In June 2022, Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University admitted a rare case of BRBNS. The patient was hospitalized due to abdominal distension and a history of recurrent hematochezia.
