Objective: Cerebral ischemia is a medical condition that occurs due to poor supply of blood in the brain. Reperfusion being savage further exaggerates the tissue injury causing cerebral ischemia/reperfusion injury (CI/R). CI/R is marked by an impairment in release of neurotransmitter, excitotoxicity, oxidative stress, inflammation, and neuronal apoptosis.

In the present study, the effects of psyllium gum/sodium-alginate (PG/SA) coatings incorporated with essential oil (HEO) and copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO NPs) on various properties of silver carp fillets were investigated and monitored over 15 days of chilled storage condition (4 °C ± 1). The control sample (uncoated), PG/SA with 3% CuO NPs, PG/SA with 1% HEO, and PG/SA with 3% CuO NPs and 1% HEO (PG/SA-HC) were examined through chemical, microbial, and sensory analysis. The results revealed that the PG/SA-HC sample after 15 days of refrigeration demonstrated a significantly lower value than the others for total viable counts (8.

Multiacting receptor-targeting antipsychotics and tricyclic antidepressants stimulate various neurotransmitter receptors despite the different targets of postsynaptic receptors and presynaptic reuptake transporters. Their auxiliary and adverse effects may be caused by multiple targets or the modification of the neuronal membrane. To evaluate the membrane responses to olanzapine, imipramine, desipramine, amitriptyline, lidocaine, and dibucaine, we examined the inhibition of lipid peroxidation in egg yolk phosphatidylcholine liposomes.

While few methodological studies have been published on the salivary measurement of malondialdehyde (MDA), none have precisely detailed the analytical method. This work presents the development of an analytical method for MDA measurement in microvolumes of saliva samples from healthy individuals, using thiobarbituric acid derivatization and fluorescence reading of the formed compound. This method was progressively designed to meet specific constraints such as the limited sample volume available, cost-effectiveness of each assay, time required for analysis and costs.

This work reports the synthesis of a copper metal complex with the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ibuprofen, and 2,2'-dipyridylamine employing microwave-assisted synthesis (MWAS). To the best of authors knowledge, this is the first study reporting a NSAID-based complex achieved through MWAS. The coordination compound was characterised by elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetry, and ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry.
