Using the gli spirographic prediction equations to revisit the allometric relationships between lung volumes, height and age in adults.

Cleveland Clinic, Respiratory Institute, Department of Pulmonary Medicine, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44195, United States.

The determination the forced vital capacity (FVC) and the forced expiratory volume in 1 second (FEV1) during spirometry studies, is at the core of the evaluation of the pulmonary function of patients with respiratory diseases. The Global Lung Function Initiative (GLI) offers the most extensive data set of normal lung functions available, which is currently used to determine the average expected/predicted FEV1 and FVC (V), and their lower limit of normal (LLN, 5th percentile) at any given height and age for women and men. These prediction equations are currently expressed in a rather complex form: V = exp [p+ (a x Ln (height) + (n x Ln (age)) + spline] and LLN = exp(Ln (V) + Ln (1 - 1.

Three-dimensional point cloud registration is a fundamental task for localization and mapping in autonomous navigation applications. Over the years, registration algorithms have evolved; nevertheless, several challenges still remain. Recently, non-repetitive scanning LiDAR sensors have emerged as a promising 3D data acquisition tool.

Objective: The aim of the research was to assess the reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in granulocytes of patients with asthma.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: The study involved 35 children aged 5 to 17 years. 26 children with persistent asthma, partially controlled course in the period of exacerbation were divided into groups: 1 group - mild asthma (n = 12), group 2 - moderate asthma (n = 7) group 3 - severe asthma (n = 7) and control group included almost healthy children (n = 9).

Spirograph is a geometric drawing that produces mathematical roulette curves of the variety technically known as hypotrochoids and epitrochoids. This paper presents a research on a novel Spirograph Based Mechanical System (SBMS) meant for the production of electrospun mat with near uniform characteristics for wound dressing applications. A combination of natural (Chitosan) and artificial (Polyethylene oxide) polymer, along with Aloe vera plant extract has been evaluated as a material for wound dressing application.
