Ammonia (NH) is crucial in fine particulate matter (PM) formation, but past estimations on industrial NH emissions remain highly uncertain. In this study, the flow of NH within air pollution control devices (APCDs) were investigated basing on material flow analysis with in-situ measurements of NH concentrations at the inlets and outlets of each APCD. Then, by combing emission factors updated with recent in-situ measurements and provincial-level activity data from statistical yearbooks and associated reports, NH emissions from various industrial sources, as well as their spatial distribution across China in 2020, were evaluated.

Urban wastewater (UWW) and landfill leachate (LL) co-treatment using membrane bioreactors (MBRs) is a valuable method for managing LL in cities. Coagulants can enhance the filterability of mixed liquor (ML), but the assessment of fouling is still needed. This research aimed to investigate the effects of co-treating synthetic wastewater (SWW) and real LL on an MBR, as well as the impact of adding poly-aluminum chloride (PACl) and Tanfloc SG.

A holistic understanding of the quality and quantity of stormwater in the context of catchment land use plays a crucial role in stormwater management. This study investigated the quality and quantity of stormwater from forested, residential, industrial, and mixed land use areas. Water samples were collected from seven sites over two years at different stages of the runoff hydrograph using fixed sampling stations.

Four different techniques for xylitol crystallization, namely cooling, evaporative, antisolvent, and combined antisolvent and cooling crystallization, were investigated regarding their influence on the product crystal properties. Various batch times and mixing intensities were studied, and the antisolvent used was ethanol. Real-time monitoring of the count rates of various chord length fractions and distributions using focused beam reflectance measurement was conducted.
