Introduction: Accurate and early HIV detection is crucial for improving outcomes and controlling transmission. This study compares HIV marker patterns and evaluates detection assay performance in general screening and ART-treated populations to enhance diagnostic accuracy and public health.
Methods: A total of 196 blood donor samples that were initially reactive in blood center screening were collected across 17 provinces in China, along with 126 ART samples from people living with HIV (PLWH).

Sensitive, convenient and rapid detection and subtyping of influenza viruses are crucial for timely treatment and management of infected people. Compared with antigen detection, nucleic acid detection has higher specificity and can shorten the detection window. Hence, in this work, we improved the lateral flow assay (LFA, one of the most promising user-friendly and on-site methods) to achieve detection and subtyping of H1N1, H3N2 and H9N2 influenza virus nucleic acids.

Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are caused mainly by uropathogenic (UPEC), accounting for both uncomplicated (75%) and complicated (65%) UTIs. Detecting UPEC in a specific, rapid, and timely manner is essential for eradication, and optical biosensors may be useful tools for detecting UPEC. Recently, biosensors have been developed for the selective detection of antigen-antibody-specific interactions.

Background: We have identified and reported a novel antigen, nonprotein-specific secreted EP1-like glycoprotein (51 kDa), for lettuce-related respiratory allergy.
Objective: We aimed to identify a novel antigen for lettuce-related respiratory allergy that is different from epidermis-specific secreted EP1-like glycoprotein.
Methods: Immunoblotting was performed using an immunoglobulin E-specific antibody.

Visceral leishmaniasis (VL) is a zoonotic disease caused by the protozoan Leishmania infantum, and dogs are considered the main urban hosts for future disease transmission. The first and most effective control against the spread of disease relies on identifying infected animals, followed by their treatment or sacrifice, to reduce the protozoan reservoirs. Despite the availability of various diagnostic tests for VL in dogs the development of a quick and accurate diagnosis is essential from a public health and ethical point of view.
