Splenic cysts are rare medical conditions, and their incidence is dominated by parasitic types. Non-parasitic splenic cysts, whether true cysts (with a cellular lining of the cystic wall) or pseudocysts (without a cellular lining), are significantly rarer than parasitic ones. Their etiology is not fully established, with fetal remnant development, metaplasia, and mesothelial invagination being widely accepted possible mechanisms.

Intussusception in adult patients is a rare medical finding, which is accompanied by an underlying tumor in some cases. However, no accepted method has been established to identify patients at risk for tumor-related intussusception. This study aimed to identify imaging features as predictors for tumor-related intussusception.

The ultrasonographic appearance of the ileocecocolic junction (ICCJ), comprising the ileocolic junction (ICJ) and the cecocolic junction (CCJ), has not been established in dogs. The purpose of this prospective study was (1) to evaluate the feasibility and technique of systematic ultrasonographic evaluation of the ICJ and CCJ and (2) to describe its ultrasonographic features. Abdominal ultrasound was performed in 102 fasted dogs, free of digestive signs.
